Kelly Rowland stood by Chris Brown on the American Music Awards on Sunday after his win elicited a mixture of applause and boos from the gang.

After presenting the award for male R&B artist on the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, the “Motivation” hitmaker accepted the prize on Brown’s behalf. Brown — who launched his newest album, “Breezy,” in June — was not in attendance after the AMAs allegedly eliminated him from the efficiency lineup final minute.

Brown was nominated for male R&B artist alongside Brent Faiyaz, Giveon, Fortunate Daye and the Weeknd.

“Excuse me — relax,” Rowland informed the booing portion of the viewers after saying Brown’s victory.

“I wish to inform Chris thanks a lot for making nice R&B music. And I wish to inform him thanks for being an unbelievable performer. I’ll take this award, convey it to you. I like you. Congratulations — and congratulations to all of the nominees on this class.”

On Friday, Brown claimed through Instagram that his AMA efficiency — a tribute to Michael Jackson — was canceled “for causes unknown.” The “Under the Influence” singer shared footage from one among his AMA rehearsals, through which he dances alongside to numerous Jackson hits, together with “Beat It,” “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’” and “Thriller.”

“U SERIOUS?” he captioned the video on Instagram.

Representatives for the AMAs didn’t instantly reply Monday to The Instances’ request for remark.

In 2009, Brown pleaded responsible to the felony assault of his then-girlfriend, Rihanna. The recording artist, who accomplished his probation sentence for that case in 2015, has been accused and arrested on charges of assault a number of occasions since then.

Elsewhere within the AMAs broadcast, Taylor Swift broke her personal report for essentially the most wins of all time; Pink and Wayne Brady paid tribute to the late Olivia Newton-John and Takeoff, respectively; and a number of other artists mourned the victims of a Saturday capturing at a homosexual nightclub in Colorado Springs.
