The School of Art within the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences is happy to welcome artwork historian Nikki A. Greene affiliate professor of artwork historical past at Wellesley College to the autumn Visiting Lecture Series. Greene examines African and African American identities, music, the physique and feminism within the twentieth century and modern artwork and can current a lecture titled, The (Im)Permanence of Black Femme Collaborations, at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, on Zoom.

Along with her professorship at Wellesley Faculty, Greene serves as an advisor to the ICA Boston for the 59th Venice Biennale presenting the work of Simone Leigh for the USA Pavilion in 2022.

Greene has traveled all through the USA and internationally to ship lectures on the humanities of the African diaspora. She is the recipient of the Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowship in Artwork and Africana Research at Wellesley Faculty, the Woodrow Wilson Profession Development Fellowship, an artist residency on the Ucross Basis and the Richard D. Cohen Fellowship on the Hutchins Middle for African and African American Analysis at Harvard College. 

She is the co-producer of the movie, When We Gather, which premiered in January 2021, a three-minute movie primarily based on a unprecedented imaginative and prescient by María Magdalena Campos-Pons who was moved by the election of Kamala Harris as Vice-President-elect of the USA and directed by the proficient filmmaker Codie Elaine Oliver.
