TODAY marks precisely two years because the passing on of rap king Cal Vin and certainly one of his protégées Zibusiso Moyo feels it’s time to develop and declare his rightful place on the high of town’s music scene.
Beginning off as an RnB artiste going by the title Ziee Xayn, the artiste launched into this journey underneath the stewardship of “That Luveve Boy”. Now, he has discovered his ft within the Afro-pop style and has rebranded to Khwezi.
Chronicle Showbiz caught up with Khwezi in remembrance of Cal Vin. He revealed how he has managed to lastly transfer on after the loss of life of his mentor.
“Cal Vin was an icon of his personal accord. He was the primary one that noticed my potential. The reality is legends by no means die. His affect will reside on, in all of us,” stated Khwezi.
He stated he has began to work on an EP that’s set to be launched quickly.
“I shifted from RnB to Afro-pop because the latter felt extra pure. I misplaced my father and uncle to lung/prostate most cancers and this actually depressed me to the purpose of getting suicidal ideas. That’s how the title Khwezi got here up because it’s meant to indicate the brightest star in me.
“I’m engaged on an EP that’s 90 p.c full and can function wonderful artistes resembling Msiz’kay. It’s centered on what the youth are going by way of,” stated Khwezi.
