Simphiwe Majobe Nhlangulela, professionally known as Simmy, was born in 1995 in Tugela Ferry, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. The album, produced by Sun-El Musician, featured hit singles such as “Ngiyesaba,” “Ubala,” and “Umahlalela.” These tracks garnered widespread acclaim and contributed to the album’s certification as Platinum by the Recording Industry of South Africa (RiSA).
The success of Tugela Fairy propelled Simmy into the spotlight, earning her nominations for Best Afro Pop Album and Newcomer of the Year at the 25th South African Music Awards (SAMAs). Additionally, she was honored with the Best Female Vocalist award at the 2019 South African Dance Music Awards.
